DOIT stand at the Maker Faire

Visiting the booth of our partners Salzburg Research and the ZSI, interested kids and facilitators got the chance to test out some of results of the pilot activities.

At one station the visitors had to program a roboter, the Cubetto, through the self designed field.  They could also learn more about the different possibilities of using Calliope for prototypes and models around the topic environment. To get more impressions of the Mini Makerfaire, take a look at the Website.

Maker Salon

In addition to the stations, a “Maker Salon” was also held for the first time, where experts presented reports and insights on the cooperation between (industrial) companies and makers.

The maker faire was not only a good place to share our first results with children and parents: We had as well many interesting talks with makers, teachers and entrepreneurs as well. Mirco Piccin from Fablab Castelfranco (Italy) was so interested that we might add him at our DOIT heros list.

It’s so inspiring to met so many people doing similar things and how we all feel to contribute to something with impact for the future of the children. Events like the Mini Makerfaire are great opportunities to meet like-minded people and for kids to get a first access to making. We are looking forward to the next one!
