Main topic of Germany’s annual national conference about STEM (MINT Zukunfskonferenz 2017) was “STEAM” – transdisciplinary approaches to develop STEM interests in children. The importance of the event is illustrated though the facts that the venue was the German’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and also Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel gave an introducational note (via video).
Sandra Schön (Salzburg Research) was asked to present projects and exemplary results when working on social innovations within makerspaces and with maker spirit. She introduced as well DOIT to about 350 participants of the conference. Besides this, a DOIT stand in front of the presentation hall shows on posters DOIT’s main aims and results – and a lot of mini flyers were shared as well.
